A young virtuoso from Switzerland, who has made a name playing and recording w/veterans from both sides of the Atlantic, including Gerry Hemingway, Gerald Cleaver, Marc Ducret, Drew Gress, Francois Houle, Vienna Art Orchestra, Benoit Delbecq, etc. “Fearlessly modern, yet respectfully regal, Blaser’s adventurous arrangements and reinterpretations offer the best of both worlds, enriching the raw impetuousness of avant-garde jazz with the proven sophistication of ageless classical forms.” (All About Jazz)

Conny Bauer is famous as a master of melodic improvisation on the trombone. His music comprises of a diverse array of tonal colours and melodies, in which employs his totally unique tonal creations, christened Conradismen by Chicago publicist John Corbett.

These stand as a testament to Bauer’s quest for a profound harmony between music and space, offering his audiences unparalleled experiences in cathedrals and theatres, and against both natural and industrial backdrops. He knows how to seize upon a venue’s acoustic properties such as reverb and echo with his trombone and process the resulting sound.

Conny Bauer’s music is creative and innovative. His trombone playing displays contrasting timbral characters – his clear, distinct tone shifting between light and bright or deep and earthy. Melodic lines lay upon one another like translucent layers of colour, the music becoming harmonic and sometimes even meditative.

His associations run deep and wide – from Peter Broetzmann and Joe McPhee, to Roger Turner, Alan Silva and the young generation – Cactus Truck, Louis Rastig, etc.
